Project Linus Providing Security Through Blankets Mountain Piecemakers members make quilts for Project Linus whose mission is: to provide love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children age 0 to 18 who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteers. | You can support our Linus Quilts Project by making an online donation below: DONATE NOW |
We collect the quilts at our monthly meetings.
We have donated over 50 quilts in 2020
during the COVID-19 pandemic
Members may either pick up a kit at one of our meetings or make the quilt with their own materials. The guild may provide batting and backing as funds allow. Please use soft materials in child-friendly colors. Size suggestions:
Small – 35″ x 45″ and up
Medium – 40″ x 50″ and up
Large – 45″ x 60″ and up
They are delivered to the local Western North Carolina Chapter of Project Linus.
This group was started in January of 1999 and has distributed thousands of blankets to the many facilities they serve. At these monthly gatherings the quilts and blankets are labeled and packaged. Fellowship is enjoyed by all.
